If your business utilises storage equipment such as racking, cantilever racking, shelving and mezzanine floors, then you have a legal obligation to carry out an annual expert inspection, this is in addition to your in-house inspections.
Whilst many companies may have a SEMA trained employee who has attended an awareness course, this does not provide them with the necessary qualifications or relevant insurance cover to carry out an annual expert inspection to meet legal requirements. SEMA is an organisation that is committed to promoting and extending the safe design, installation and inspection of racking, cantilever racking, shelving and mezzanine floors.
Using a SEMA Approved Inspector (SARI) the storage equipment industry’s leading and most recognised qualification, you can be assured all storage equipment is inspected in accordance with latest industry and H&S legislation.
Established in 1987, all our inspectors are fully insured and trained to SARI standards offering unbiased and impartial advice when inspecting your storage system. Once an in-depth on-site assessment has taken place, our inspector will de-brief relevant supervisors / managers highlighting any areas that may require immediate off-loading.
Within 5-8 working days we will send an electronic report in accordance with SEMA Guidelines detailing condition, specification, damage list including severity, location and photographic evidence to enable any repairs to be carried out by your approved supplier.
Furthermore, within the report advice will be given reference to equipment load notice signs, general housekeeping and recommendations including any safety measures that can be implemented in advance ensuring that your racking is protected between inspections and keeping your repair costs to a minimum.
