Working in conjunction with Severn Unival’s project team, Teepee discussed the manufacturing process being carried out within each area. From the information provided, Teepee’s design team offered several partitioning solutions to meet Severn Unival’s design criteria concerning durability, sound attenuation and price.

Throughout the construction of the new manufacturing facilities, Teepee installed a variety of modular systems such as single skin steel, double skin steel with an inert mineral wool infill to enhance sound attenuation and steel insulated panels with a Plastisol finish, ideal for damp environments involving water.

All systems were supplied in a variety of formats to suit individual manufacturing processes such as steel and mesh, steel and glass and solid panels. Available throughout our partitioning range, Teepee also installed double-action PVC swing doors, fast action roller shutters and pedestrian doors, complete with digital security locks.

To enclose individual production facilities, Teepee installed several different self-supported suspended ceilings, which consisted of white mineral wool and plastic faced ceiling tiles, including steel insulated partition panels.

Having won the tender, Teepee’s project team carried out a detailed site survey and then produced relevant working drawings and a clear build schedule.

The new production facility comprised a 4,261 sq ft (396m2) mezzanine floor having a production office located on the upper level and a production facility below. Due to the overall size of the mezzanine floor, the underside of the structure required one-hour fire protection to comply with building regulations. Teepee then installed single skin steel partitions on both floor levels, which were shaped around the staircases to maximize space.

In addition to the offices, a steel enclosure was installed around the stores to create a secure area. Within the solid partitions, Teepee installed a service hatch and one set of double action PVC doors, which enabled Scilabware to access the stores’ area picking and replenishing pallets from within the re-located pallet racking system.

Teepee offered a single skin steel partitioning system nom 2700mm high. This fully versatile system is available in a variety of panel configurations such as all steel, steel and mesh, all mesh and steel/glass/steel.

Single skin steel partitioning is a modular system which can easily be installed or re-located, ideal for an industrial environment covering a wide range of applications such as factory segregation, inspection rooms, offices, secure stores, etc.

All panels have a durable epoxy powder coated finish and available in a range of standard heights ranging from 2400 – 3000mm, which can be designed to accept multi-tier lifts if required.

Once CMC realized the flexibility of this system, Teepee carried out a site survey and produced a detailed quotation and drawing, highlighting six different manufacturing and storage cells.

Teepee submitted detailed drawings of the area accompanied by a program of works to Unipart’s Health & Safety division to agree with operations before commencement. In the schedule, Teepee agreed to install perimeter Heras style safety fencing around the build area, with suitable safety signage before starting any works.

This enabled Teepee to install a new perimeter fence nom 3000mm high constructed from angled framed weld mesh steel partitioning to segregate the Aerospace and Defense division from other businesses located within Unipart’s 869,730 sq ft (80,830m2) distribution facility.

On completion of the fencing, Teepee installed new short span shelving. This boltless shelving system comprised bays nom 3000mm high x 1250mm wide x 450mm deep, having 10 shelves in the height capable of supporting a uniformly distributed load (UDL) of 120 Kgs per shelf.

To meet insurance requirements, all shelving bays were fitted with weld mesh backs and sides to segregate products and ensure sprinklers would work effectively in the event of a fire.

After carrying out an onsite survey Teepee projects department provided Olympus Global within a rail-guided VNA  Man-Up forklift truck solution. This enabled Olympus Global to maximize the available clear headroom of 9,900mm, operating within aisles of 1450mm.

By offering a Man-Up VNA solution this allowed full pallets to be stored and retrieved, with the added advantage of allowing the forklift driver to pick individual SKU’s from mixed pallets. Furthermore, by offering a low profile guide rail system opposed to a wire-guided system, this enabled the VNA forklift to operate at maximum speed without the unnecessary expense of grinding back the floor or the installation of wire guidance.

To create the secure store Teepee installed solid single skin steel partitioning at 3000mm high, then anti-collapse weld mesh guarding 9700mm being supported off the racking uprights to prevent any pallets falling onto personnel operating within the area.

Finally, due to confined space, two bi-part opening doors were installed to enable forklift access, complete with steel protection guards fitted either side.
